If you’ve watched Buying Beverly Hills, then you know the cameras captured my now fiancé proposing to me. It really was such a special moment that caught me 100% by surprise. I know, I know, you might wonder how I really could have been surprised if there were cameras there but I think after you read this you’ll understand. I’m hoping to share more of the wedding planning process with everyone here, but for now, my engagement story will have to do 🙂
Alright, so, the story begins over a year ago when all along Alex was planning to propose to me and was in the process of having a ring made. In the meantime, the show was being filmed and he decided to be super coy and vague with me about marriage whenever we discussed it, which if you watched the show, you know was a bit frustrating for me. Well, little did I know…
Anyway, the day the ring was finally ready, Alex and I were scheduled to film a scene together having dinner. Alex knew he wanted to propose that night so he asked me to ask the producers if we could move filming to another night, but I really wanted to stay on schedule so I asked him to please just cooperate and film the scene with me. He reallllly pushed back saying it would be better on another night, etc., but finally, he just agreed to film that night, and unbeknownst to me, decided he was going to propose mid-scene!
No one knew. I repeat, absolutely no one knew! Not one of the producers was looped into his plan. So when all of the sudden in the middle of filming he was asking me to be his wife, me, and all the other people in the room, were in complete shock. Alex is such a private person so doing something like this so publically was very out of character, which is probably why I wasn’t suspicious at all, ha! It made it a huge surprise for me and to be honest, I love having my raw reaction on camera to watch back.
Ahh, even thinking back to that night makes me smile as I type this. As a major type A person (IYKYK), this is definitely a moment I was ok not being in control and just being surprised!
