I always like to get into the nitty gritty when I’m putting together real estate posts for you guys, but sometimes, it’s important to take it back to the basics. At the end of the day, if you don’t have the basics down it will affect your entire business, so this week we’re talking how to keep your clients happy. It might seem obvious but whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been in this industry for years, it’s always good to remind yourself of these quick tips and make sure you’re implementing them in your client relationships! I’ll be speaking on this topic from a real estate perspective, but in reality, these tips stand for any industry. Making sure your client feels happy and comfortable is top priority, so these are the 3 things I’m always checking myself on.
#1: Truly Understand Their Expectations
First off, it’s so important to know exactly what the client wants and expects. Ask them as many questions as you need and have the answers to the many questions they’ll be asking you. Get to know them! Overall this will lead to a better experience for you both, as the client will feel comfortable that you understand them, and you can also be super clear to them on what is or is not realistic.
#2: Genuinely Be Interested in Their Needs
The client should know that you care about them and care about doing the best possible job you can. Don’t make them feel like you’re uninvolved or too busy to hear their needs! It’s easy to go through the motions (especially if you’ve been doing this a while, I get it) BUT it’s important to take a step back and dedicate your full attention to each individual client and interaction.
#3: Always Be Ready to Help
Life in real estate is a grind- you’ve got to hustle to make it happen. That usually means things can get very busy, very fast. That being said, you always have to make sure you’re setting aside time to be resourceful and helpful to the client. You’re the person they will be calling with questions, with concerns, with allllll of the things. It’s your job to show up for them!
