Let’s be real—life in real estate can be wild. One minute, you’re negotiating a deal, and the next you’re driving across town to make a last-minute showing happen. It’s it’s so busy and fun, but like any job, it can quickly get overwhelming.
If you’re anything like me, prioritizing your mental health, especially with the demands of a hectic job, is at the top of the priority list. Finding creative outlets to de-stress and reset has been such a game changer for me as it’s nice to put energy and effort into a project that isn’t work-related. If you’re looking for a way to get more creative (outside of work) keep reading for 4 ideas that you can try by the weekend!
DIY Home Projects
If you’re in real estate, chances are you love everything home-related. Channel that energy into a little DIY therapy. Repaint a room, move the furniture around, switch up the decor, the list is literally endless! It’s super satisfying to see the transformation after your hard work and a refreshed space always gives a new sense of peace.
Writing—Not Just for Listings
Writing isn’t for everyone, but if it is your thing, lean into it. Grab a cute journal and start jotting out your thoughts, blog about your passions and interests, or try creative writing. If you can, try stepping away from anything digital and write pen to paper. It’s nice to take a break from the screens, especially if you have a job that involves being on the computer a lot.
Cooking
There’s something therapeutic about cooking a nice meal just because—not because you need to grab a quick bite between showings or eat dinner after a long day at work. Trying out a new recipe forces you to focus on the present moment, and let’s be honest, there’s nothing like a homemade meal to bring some comfort after a long day of stressful work situations.
Gardening
We spend so much time focusing on a home’s curb appeal for buyers that we forget how relaxing it can be to create our own little outdoor oasis. Whether you’ve got a huge backyard or just a few potted plants on a balcony, gardening is a great way to slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy the satisfaction of watching something grow.
You know I love to work hard, but taking time to recharge is a must. I hope these creative outlets give you some inspo to find the thing that helps you destress! Am I missing anything? Let me know in the comments…
xx, Farrah
