If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that real estate and “perfect morning routines” are not exactly best friends. I love the idea of slow mornings and making everything feel a little extra pretty as much as anyone, but let’s be honest… If you’re an agent, your phone is already buzzing before you even open your eyes, clients need answers immediately, and your whole schedule can flip before you’ve had a sip of coffee. It’s chaotic, it’s unpredictable, and it’s absolutely part of the job.
So instead of pretending my mornings look like a Pinterest board, I’ve figured out what actually works. Something simple, grounding, and realistic. Something that keeps me from feeling like I’ve run a full marathon before breakfast. And if you’re juggling a million things like the rest of us, this will help you too.
Start With One Thing You Can Control
My best mornings always start with something small that’s just for me. Making my bed. Stretching for a few minutes. Drinking water before I even think about touching my phone. It’s not glamorous, but it reminds me I’m a human before I’m an agent. It’s a tiny win, but it sets the whole tone!
Protect Your Peace Before the Phone Comes Out
Since our phones double as our office, the second you open those messages, your brain goes straight into work mode. Instead, I give myself a moment. Coffee in silence. Fresh air. A quick journal brain-dump if I’m feeling anxious. It stops that immediate spiral into emails and contracts and gives my mind a much calmer starting point. Trust me, those few quiet minutes are magic.
Move Your Body
You knew this was coming. Even ten minutes makes a huge difference. A walk, Pilates, stretching, whatever feels doable that day. On the mornings I move, I feel grounded and focused. On the mornings I don’t, everything feels a little heavier. Think of it as fueling yourself before the day takes over.
Prep and Prioritize
Before I officially dive into work, I take a quick look at my calendar and map out what truly matters that day. Real estate lovesss to throw curveballs, but having a loose plan helps me stay ahead instead of constantly reacting. A tiny bit of prep goes such a long way in keeping the chaos manageable. I go into more detail on how I manage my workload here if you want to learn more!
Limit the Distractions (Even the Real Estate Ones)
Once the workday kicks in, distractions pile up fast. If I need uninterrupted time, I silence notifications or turn on DND while I handle something important. It’s not forever, just long enough to get the task done without a million dings pulling me in every direction. Everything will still be there when you’re done. I promise.
A morning routine doesn’t need to be perfect or aesthetic or even consistent. It just needs to support you. Real estate moves fast and demands a lot, so give yourself mornings that help you feel calm, grounded, and ready for whatever the day throws your way. You deserve mornings that work for your life, not against it.
xx, Farrah
