In today’s crazy competitive market, having a strong personal brand can make all of the difference. It’s not just about selling houses—it’s about selling yourself as the go-to agent people trust and want to work with. If you’re just starting out and building your brand or are finding it’s time to give your brand a little refresh, keep reading for my five tips that’ll help you stand out.
Find Your Thing
What’s the thing that you’re better at than most people? Your niche? Don’t lie… we all have something. Maybe you know the historic district like the back of your hand, or you’re the queen of first-time homebuyers. Whatever it is, embrace it and build your brand around it. Show people why they should choose YOU over every other agent out there.
Add Some Strategy
You’re probably already on social media, but are you using it strategically? Share more than just listings—show off your expertise! Post tips for buyers and sellers, share success stories (with permission, of course), and engage with your followers. It’s not just about likes and shares; it’s about showing you know your shit and can be trusted.
Invest in a Website
Your website is like your digital business card. Everything is online now, so it’s important to have a strong online presence when it comes to business. Make sure your site looks good, is easy to navigate, and has all the info clients need. Think testimonials, your bio (but make it fun, no one wants to read the standard, boring bio), and a blog where you can drop your knowledge on real estate. A well-designed website not only looks professional but also builds trust with potential clients. It’s also another way to further your personal brand and set your vibe as an agent.
Get Networking
I’ve said it a million times and I’ll say it again, networking is crucial. There are so many ways to network, such as getting involved in local events, joining community groups, and yes, attending those real estate meetups, especially when you’re first starting out. The more people you meet and build trust with, the more referrals you’re bound to get. And don’t forget online networking too—join industry forums and engage with other agents and potential clients, or even hop on IG and comment on other agent’s posts. You never know what can come from it!
Prioritize Good Communication
Amazing customer service and communication strengthen client relationships. Listen to your client’s needs, work hard to get it done, and go above and beyond whenever you can. And always keep them in the loop. Happy clients will only give you good reviews and referrals, and that’s the advertising money can’t buy.
Bonus Tip: Look for Inspo
If you’re reading this and are at a loss on where TF to start, get your social media stalking on and look for some inspiration. The good news about the market being so saturated is that you have an endless amount of successful agents who do it right and you can learn from. I’m not saying copy what they are doing, but using their content as a way to spark your own ideas is always a good place to start!
